Polly P. McGavock, one of the most successful and prominent real estate brokers in Virginia, founded the Company in 1948. In 1976, she sold the Company to John Royer, who built a staff with arguably more expertise in cattle and horse farms than any real estate office in the United States.
In 1994, Paul Coleman and Tom McCrystal purchased Royer & McGavock, continuing the tradition and reputation established by Polly McGavock.
Over the years, Royer & McGavock has sold some of the most important farms and estates in Virginia, including Glenmore Farm, Mount Sharon, Enniscorthy, Twin Oaks, and Auburn Hill, as well as many others.
