
Paul M. Coleman, a native of Southwest Virginia, grew up on a general livestock farm and has been active in exhibiting livestock throughout the State of Virginia. In high school Paul was named the State Livestock Farmer for 1957. He is a 1961 graduate of VPI with a degree in Animal Science.
After spending two years in the Navy, he was employed as a fieldman for the Virginia Angus Association. He then served from 1967 to 1977 as East Coast Regional Manager for the American Hereford Association, having the responsibilities of registered livestock activities from Maine to Florida.
In 1977 Paul purchased a livestock auction company managing all breeds of registered and commercial cattle, farm equipment and related auction activities, including real estate which he continues to manage.
He has been a licensed real estate agent with Royer & McGavock, Ltd. since 1980. He owns and operates a general livestock farm in the Scottsville area of approximately 1,000 acres. He has also served on the Board of the Virginia Angus Association, the Augusta Farm Bureau Board, the Virginia Farm Bureau Board, the Virginia Beef Expo Board, the Virginia Cattlemen Foundation and the Animal Science Advisory Board of Virginia Tech.
